Recently, APR has been very focused on developing a collaboration with LASNET and Catalyst: The School for Social Change. After a year working together on its governance struture, we are finally ready to provide some exciting updates!

Context

The School for Social Change (SSC) aims to bridge gaps in Australia’s education system by fostering critical thinking, practical skills, and collaborative learning beyond corporatised academic frameworks. By linking grassroots action with academic and other knowledges, the SSC cultivates educational opportunities that support individuals already engaged in ecologies of meaningful social change.

The mainling list

The school is an independent yet collaborative institution for radical education -- free and open for all. It envisions offering summer schools, courses, workshops, and site visits that bring together communities from diverse fields, geographies, and movements.

As we work in the background to finalise our website, the best way to stay connected is via our mailing list.

Open Call

We are looking for activists, practicioners, professionals, scholars, workers and anyone else that wants to share and co-produce knowledge, skills and practices with a broader community. You can find our EOI here

Any ideas ready? the first deadline is 9 of april. The call will remain open!

Courses already running

Skills for social change

11 apr, 2pm - 5 pm, Balam Balam Place.

This workshop will unpack what facilitation is, what makes a good meeting, collective decision making and practical skills you can use in your facilitation practice. this workshops will be running twice a month.

Disagreeing together

18 apr, 2pm - 5 pm, tbc

We aren’t great at disagreeing with each other. In fact, disagreement leads to people leaving groups, people getting cancelled and generally a doubling down on our position. It’s a problem. This workshop is about challenging ourselves to be both connected and in disagreement.
